Wind diminishing to west 15 to 20 Saturday morning and to variable 10 to 15 Saturday afternoon. Wind increasing to east 15 to 20 Saturday evening.

Rain or freezing rain and fog patches changing to flurries this evening and ending overnight. Visibility 1 mile or less in fog patches and in flurries.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water freezing spray beginning this evening and ending Saturday afternoon.

Temperatures minus 2 to plus 3 falling to minus 8 to minus 3 this evening.

Issued 3:30 PM NDT 13 March 2026 Tonight and Saturday At 3:30 p.m. NDT today deepening low 981 mb located over the
Northeast Coast of Newfoundland.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Saturday departing low 960 mb located southeast
of Greenland.

At 3:30 p.m. NDT Saturday deepening low 1002 mb located over
southern New Brunswick.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Sunday low 986 mb located east of Funk Island Bank.

At 3:30 p.m. NDT today ridge located on a line north-south over
New England.
By 3:30 p.m. NDT Saturday ridge located on a line
northwest-southeast over Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:25 PM NDT 13 March 2026 A deepening low pressure system over the Northeast Coast will slowly
continue northeastward to lie northeast of Belle Isle Bank by early
Saturday morning. Strong to gale force north to northeasterly winds
are expected north of the track. Gale to storm force south to
southwesterly winds are expected to the south. Storm to hurricane
force winds are expected to develop this evening over the Belle Isle
Bank as the low rapidly deepens. Winds will diminish over all waters
to strong to gale force west to northwesterly winds in its wake
tonight and further diminish on Saturday as a ridge builds in from
the west.

A second low pressure system will approach from the Maritimes late in
the day on Saturday. Strong to gale force east to southeasterly winds
are expected over southern waters ahead of the low.

Marine interests are advised that a hurricane force wind warning is
in effect for Belle Isle Bank. Storm warnings are in effect for South
Coast, East Coast, Northeast Coast, Funk Island Bank, and Northern
Grand Banks. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining waters.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except South Coast and the Grand Banks.
