Wind variable 10 to 15 knots increasing to southeast 25 this morning with gusts to 45 from Margaree Harbour to Bay St. Lawrence this afternoon. Wind becoming southeast 35 early this evening with gusts to 70 from Margaree Harbour to Bay St. Lawrence. Wind becoming westerly 35 to 45 after midnight then increasing to westerly 50 near noon Tuesday.

Snow beginning this afternoon becoming rain or snow near midnight then flurries overnight. Visibility 1 mile or less in precipitation.

Freezing spray warning in effect.

Over open water moderate at times severe freezing spray beginning Tuesday morning.

Temperatures minus 1 falling to minus 8 Tuesday morning.

Issued 3:00 AM AST 1 March 2021 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 3:00 a.m. AST today ridge located over the central Marine
District.
By 3:30 p.m. AST today departing ridge located over Laurentian Fan.

At 3:30 p.m. AST today deepening low 993 mb located over the Gulf
of Maine.
By 10:00 a.m. AST Tuesday low 966 mb located near Anticosti Island.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:50 AM AST 1 March 2021 An area of low pressure will develop over the Gulf of Maine this
afternoon and intensify tonight as it moves to lie near Anticosti
Island Tuesday morning. Winds will increase to strong to gale force
southeasterlies ahead of the low then shift to gale to storm force
northwesterlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, Chaleur-Miscou and
Anticosti-western-half. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters. Freezing spray warnings are in effect for all waters except
Anticosti-eastern-half.
