By 3:30 p.m. NDT Tuesday trough located on a line
northwest-southeast over Belle Isle Bank.
At 10:00 a.m. NDT today ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Newfoundland.
By 10:00 a.m. NDT Tuesday ridge located east of the Marine District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:46 AM NDT 16 March 2026 A trough of low pressure southeast of the Labrador Sea will movesoutheastward before departing to the southeast today. Strong to gale
force northwesterlies over northeastern waters will diminish today as
the trough departs.
A second trough will move over the Maritimes today and cross
Newfoundland overnight. Strong to gale force southeasterlies ahead of
the trough will shift to southwesterly behind it.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for Northeast Gulf, East Coast - north of Cape St. Francis,
Northeast Coast, Belle Isle Bank, and Funk Island Bank.
