Issued 4:00 AM NST 3 February 2023 Today Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 a.m. NST today trough located over Labrador Sea.By 9:30 p.m. NST tonight weakening trough located over Labrador Sea.
At 4:00 a.m. NST today intensifying low 986 mb located over Quebec.
By 4:00 a.m. NST Saturday low 958 mb located over the Mid Labrador
Coast.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:57 AM NST 3 February 2023 An intensifying low pressure system over Quebec will tracknortheastward to lie over the South Labrador Coast by tonight and
over the Labrador Sea on Saturday. Strong to gale force east to
northerlies ahead of the low will spread across most regions today
and further intensify to storm to hurricane force winds tonight into
Saturday. To the south of the low gale to storm force southwesterlies
are expected. Gale to storm force northwesterlies will develop late
in the day on Saturday in the wake of the low.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for Mid Labrador Coast, South Labrador Sea - northern half
and East Labrador Sea. Storm warnings are in effect for all remaining
waters except South Labrador Coast and Northwest Labrador Sea -
northwestern half where gale warnings are in effect.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for the Labrador Sea.
