Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 4:00 AM NST 22 January 2018 Today Tonight and Tuesday At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 985 mb located over the central Northwest
Labrador Sea.
By 9:30 p.m. NST tonight dissipating low 998 mb located over the
central South Labrador Sea.

At 4:00 a.m. NST today low 970 mb located northeast of Belle
Isle Bank.
By 10:00 a.m. NST today quasi-stationary low 966 mb located
southeast of Greenland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:55 AM NST 22 January 2018 A low pressure system over the Northwest Labrador Sea will slowly
weaken as it drifts southward tonight and Monday. Meanwhile, a low
pressure system northeast of Belle Isle Bank will move to lie
southeast of Greenland this morning where it will remain nearly
stationary. These systems will bring gale force northwesterlies to
western waters today into Tuesday.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except Lake Melville and East Labrador Sea.

Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for South Labrador Sea and Northwest Labrador Sea.
