SNOWFALL WARNING

Snowfall Warning in effect for:
  • Co. of Stettler near Stettler Nevis and Rochon Sands

A long period of snowfall with significant accumulations is expected. Total snowfall amounts up to 35 cm are possible for parts of eastern Alberta by Saturday night. Other areas will likely see snowfall totals of 15 to 25 cm. Snow over southern Alberta will continue spreading northwards tonight. Some areas will see 5 to 10 cm accumulate by Saturday morning. The heaviest snow will fall on Saturday with another 10 to 25 cm forecast. The snow will taper off for most areas Saturday evening. However, east-central parts of the province will likely have moderate snowfall continue until early Sunday morning. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone. For information on emergency plans and kits go to getprepared.gc.ca.
