SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

An abrupt return to winter is on the way this week, with snow and blowing snow expected. Snow will start on Monday and continue through Tuesday. Amounts of 10 to 20 cm are expected by Wednesday, though snow totals will likely vary widely from place to place. Local amounts up to 30 cm are possible. Blowing snow is expected on Tuesday over open areas in central and southern Alberta, including Highways 1, 2 and 16. Visibility will likely be poor. Travel will be challenging. Allow extra time for travel. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
