SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

Snow expected over highway passes. Where: Kootenay Pass. When: This morning into Saturday afternoon. What: Snow accumulations up to 10 cm with low visibilities at times. Remarks: A cold trough will move into the interior today resulting in snow levels dropping to near 1500 metres. Snow near Kootenay Pass is expected to start in the morning, and will persist into Saturday afternoon. The heaviest snow is expected on Saturday with total snow accumulations up to 10 cm before the snow tapers to a few flurries by late Saturday afternoon. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Road conditions are available at drivebc.ca.
