Where: southern Saskatchewan and southern Manitoba When: This afternoon and this evening Comments: Strong westerly winds are causing reduced visibilities in blowing dust this afternoon. Blowing dust is expected for most of the day until winds abate late this evening. Travel will likely be hazardous in some locations. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times. Poor air quality is expected. If driving, turn on your lights, slow down and maintain a safe following distance. Dust storms can strike suddenly. Dust storm warnings are issued when widespread poor visibility in blowing dust is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Additional information: A strong low pressure system over central Saskatchewan will lead to severe westerly wind gusts. In addition to strong winds, drier areas may see restricted visibilities in blowing dust. Winds will abate overnight. Local utility outages are possible. High-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Secure loose objects.
