Rainfall Warning in effect for:
  • Howe Sound

Rain, at times heavy, is expected. When: Today through this evening. Where: Howe Sound, Metro Vancouver - North Shore and Northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge. Remarks: Two frontal systems are contributing to this prolonged period of moisture. The first frontal system passed through the South Coast yesterday, bringing 20 to 40 mm of rainfall across the region. The next robust frontal system is expected to pass through starting mid day today. An additonal 20 to 40 mm of rainfall can be expected before the rain eases off later this evening. Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic. Local utility outages are possible.
