Hazardous winter conditions are expected. When: Now through tonight Where: Highway 3 (Mainly near Kootenay pass) Additional information: A strong Pacific frontal system brings heavy snow followed by rain and wind to Kootenay Pass lasting through tonight. Snowfall amounts are expected to be around 25cm near Kootenay Pass. Rainfall and strong winds follow in the night, with wind gusts up to 70 km/h. Travel will likely be challenging. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Allow extra time for travel. SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

Strong southwesterly winds gusting up to 80 km/h are expected. When: Tonight Where: Parts of the BC interior including: Similkameen, Nicola, South Thompson, Fraser Canyon, North Okanagan, Chilcotin, Lakes District, Stuart-Nechako, Prince George, Cariboo and Yellowhead. The Coquihalla Highway, Highway 3 - Hope to Princeton Highway and Yellowhead Highway will also be affected. Additional information: A strong Pacific frontal system will move through the interior bringing gusty southwesterly winds lasting until tonight.
