Special Weather Statement in effect for:
  • Metro Vancouver - southwest including Richmond and Delta

Heavy rain and strong winds are forecast from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon. Where: Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley - West including Abbotsford. Howe Sound and the Sunshine Coast - Gibsons to Earls Cove. When: Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon. Hazards: - Heavy rain and reduced visibilities - Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts - Clear storm drains of leaves and debris - High winds may cause tree branches to break and lead to power outages. Remarks: A storm system is forecast to impact the South Coast beginning Sunday afternoon. Rain will begin Sunday afternoon and will intensify Sunday evening before easing on Monday afternoon. Rainfall amounts of 30 to 40 mm are expected by Monday morning with locally higher amounts possible. This storm system will also bring strong southeasterly winds on Sunday night.
