What: Widespread fog reducing visibility to near zero. When: This morning. Where: East Vancouver Island, Greater Victoria, Southern Gulf Islands, Malahat Highway. Additional information: A ridge of high pressure over the south coast is trapping cool and humid marine air near the surface. As a result, widespread fog has formed. Conditions are expected to improve later this morning as a weak front mixes some of the moisture out. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times. Widespread near zero visibility is possible. Adjust travel plans accordingly. If driving, turn on your lights, slow down and maintain a safe following distance. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
