Conditions are expected to become favourable for the development of snow squalls. Locations: Channel-Port aux Basques to Corner Brook and the Bay of Islands, and Deer Lake - Humber Valley. Total snowfall: potentially more than 10 cm in snow squalls. Maximum wind gusts: 60 to 70 km/h. Time span: tonight, Tuesday and Tuesday night.. Remarks: A cold west to northwesterly flow of arctic air will likely lead to the development of snow squalls. Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Prepare for possible disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities. Snow squall watches are issued when localized, intense snowfall causing rapid accumulation and/or reduced visibility is possible.
