Snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, and significant rainfall is expected. Locations: Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity to the Burin Peninsula. Potential snowfall: 5 to 10 cm, except less over the Burin Peninsula. Potential rainfall: 25 to 50 mm. Time span: Thursday afternoon until Friday morning. Remarks: A developing weather system is expected to bring a period of prolonged rainfall. The rain will be preceded by several hours of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain beginning early Thursday morning. The heaviest rainfall is expected to occur Thursday afternoon. Strong winds in the Wreckhouse area are also likely Thursday morning. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
