Lake effect snow expected. What: Reduced visibility in snow and local blowing snow. Heavy lake effect snow with total amounts of 15 to 30 cm. Locally higher amounts are possible in the most persistent lake effect snow bands. When: Late this afternoon through Thursday afternoon. Additional information: Rapidly falling temperatures are expected through the day. Lake effect snow off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay will develop late this afternoon into this evening. Northwesterly winds will become more northerly by this evening. As a result, the highest snowfall amounts are expected to be over northern Grey county to near Stayner. Wind gusts of 50 to 60 km/h will result in blowing snow and further reduce visibility. Travel will likely be hazardous. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
