Potential for significant rainfall this week. The saturated or frozen ground will have little ability to absorb this rainfall. What: Rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm. Locally higher amounts are possible in areas that receive thunderstorms. When: Beginning tonight and lasting through Wednesday. Where: Most of southern Ontario. Additional information: A series of low pressure systems will lead to significant rainfall across parts of southern Ontario. Heavy downpours may cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Rainfall warnings may be issued for some areas as the event draws nearer. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details.
