Hazardous winter conditions are expected. Locations: Portions of southeast Manitoba. Total snowfall: 10 to 20 cm, with locally higher amounts possible. Maximum wind gusts: 50 to 60 km/h. Timing: Snow and freezing rain to begin this afternoon. Freezing rain ending by this evening. Snow ending Thursday morning. Remarks: A strong Alberta Clipper will move across the southern prairies today and tonight. Heavy snowfall will begin to accumulate later this afternoon. Winds will begin to increase on Thursday morning and bring reduced visibilities in blowing snow. These conditions should ease Thursday afternoon. Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate. Road closures are possible. Winter Storm Warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather (such as snow, freezing rain, wind and rain) are expected or occurring.
