Special weather statement in effect for:
Winter is not over, as snow and strong winds are expected Thursday.
A storm will develop over the Southern United States today and will
track up the Appalachians toward the Maritimes Wednesday. It will
reach the Gulf of St. Lawrence Thursday. Watches or warnings have
already been issued for areas from Southwestern Quebec to the Gaspé Peninsula.
The system's exact track remains uncertain for easternmost parts of
Quebec, but snowfall amounts could be significant and winds will
result in blowing snow Thursday over Anticosti and the Lower North Shore if our guidance is right.
These winter conditions will have a definite impact on road
conditions and activities.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
