Winter storm warning in effect for:

  • Chandler area
  • New Carlisle - Port-Daniel area

Heavy snowfall with blowing snow is expected.

A low pressure system developing along the American Eastern Seaboard will track toward the Maritimes Thursday morning then toward Newfoundland Thursday evening. This system will bring an area of snow at times heavy and strong winds over much of the Gaspé Peninsula beginning this evening; about 20 centimetres of snow and blowing snow are expected.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Winter Storm Warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
