Alerts for: New Carlisle - Chandler

Warnings

6:46 AM EDT Wednesday 23 April 2014
Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Chandler area
  • New Carlisle - Port-Daniel area

Rainfall - early morning to late morning Thursday.

Rain, at times heavy, is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

A low pressure system located near Quebec City last night will continue to make its way eastward today and reach Nova Scotia Wednesday evening. It will leave 25 to 45 millimetres of rain by Thursday morning over several eastern areas of the province. This rain combined with snowmelt could cause river water levels to rise.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.

Rainfall Warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please continue to monitor your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can call 1-800-361-0233 or send an email to tempsviolent.quebec@ec.gc.ca. You may also tweet reports of severe weather to #meteoqc.
