Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Grande-Rivière - Cascapédia area
  • Mont-Albert area
  • Murdochville area

Early this morning, an area of freezing rain affects the Upper North Shore and over some areas of the Gaspé Peninsula. Precipitations should entirely change to rain in the afternoon. The amount of freezing precipitation will vary between 1 to 4 millimetres.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
