A stormy holiday season.

A storm will hit Eastern Canada from December 23 to 25. The low
Pressure system is developing over the Central United States and will
Intensify over the Great Lakes area during the next few days.
A strong southerly flow will set up over the eastern part of the
Continent, bringing a mild air mass over Quebec and the Maritimes.

On Tuesday the 23rd, a mixed bag of precipitation will begin to fall
Over Southern Quebec. Snow will be followed by rain, but there is a
Chance of freezing rain during the transition. In the St Lawrence
Valley, a fairly long episode of freezing rain is expected and
Warnings have been issued accordingly.

This first impulse will spread toward Eastern Quebec on December 24,
Bringing snow and freezing rain with it. During this time, western
Quebec will see some rain.

On Christmas Eve, a second, larger impulse will move into western
Quebec and will bring more rain nearly all parts of the province.
Temperatures will approach the 10-degree mark and thunderstorms will
Be possible. Total rainfall amounts could be upwards of 25
Millimetres. However, areas near Labrador will see a snowstorm.
