Winter storm watch in effect for:

  • Blanc-Sablon

A major system will intensify today over the U.S. Eastern Seaboard and will affect the Maritimes and Eastern Quebec beginning Tuesday.
Heavy snow, strong winds and blowing snow will affect Anticosti Island and the Lower North Shore beginning late tomorrow afternoon. Winter storm warnings have already been issued for eastern regions of the Gaspe Peninsula. More than 15 centimetres of snow is expected to fall with this system.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.

Winter Storm Watches are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
