Storm surge warning in effect for:

  • Minganie

Higher than normal water levels with large waves are expected near the coast.

Potential breaking sea conditions and coastal flooding warning issued jointly by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (sciences) and the meteorological service of Canada - Quebec region, 2014-11-24 at 09:30 AM EST.

An intense low pressure system from the Great Lakes region will cause strong winds in the above-mentionned areas. Strong winds combined with the current high tidal range period could produce breaking waves along the coast in the vicinity of the following locales, at the specified date and time (eastern standard time).

Sept-Îles - Port-Cartier: 2014-11-25, from 01:00 AM to 05:00 AM.

Minganie: 2014-11-25, from 12:00 AM to 04:00 AM.

Anticosti: 2014-11-25, from 12:30 AM to 04:30 AM.

Natashquan: from 10:00 PM 2014-11-24 to 02:00 AM 2014-11-25.

Chevery: from 10:00 PM 2014-11-24 to 02:00 AM 2014-11-25.

Coastal flooding is possible along the shoreline. Stay away from affected shorelines. People close to the shoreline should stay on the lookout for worsening conditions.

Storm surge warnings are issued when water levels pose a threat to coastal regions.
