Blizzard warning in effect for:

  • Salluit

Blizzard conditions with gusty winds and visibility frequently near zero in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring.

A low pressure system from the Nunavut is tracking toward northern Hudson Bay. With this approaching system, visibilities will be near zero in snow and blowing snow beginning Saturday evening.

Blizzard Warnings are issued when widespread reduced visibilities of 400 metres or less are expected for at least 4 hours.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please continue to monitor your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. Wind warning in effect for:

  • Salluit

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Southerlies will blow in gusts up to 90 km/h over these communities Saturday evening.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
