Wind warning in effect for:

  • Ivujivik

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.

Southerlies with gusts up to 90 kilometers per hour will blow over these communities this evening and overnight into Sunday morning.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Blizzard warning in effect for:

  • Ivujivik

Blizzard conditions with gusty winds and visibility frequently near zero in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring.

A low pressure system from the Nunavut is tracking toward northern Hudson Bay. With this approaching system, visibilities will be near zero in snow and blowing snow beginning this evening. Conditions should improve by Sunday morning.

Blizzard Warnings are issued when widespread reduced visibilities of 400 metres or less are expected for at least 4 hours.
