Frost Advisory in effect for:

  • Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale

Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas.

As a fresh high pressure ridge moves in from the west, generally clear to partly cloudy conditions are expected tonight. This will allow temperatures to bottom out near the freezing mark overnight and early Saturday morning. Some readings in low lying frost prone areas will dip to minus 2 or so. As a result, frost is expected at a number of locales.

Folks, especially those in low lying and frost prone areas, should protect or bring indoor tender plants this evening.

Temperatures will rise well above the freezing mark later on Saturday morning.

Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas.

Weather Advisories for Frost are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
