Blowing snow advisory in effect for:
- Aklavik Region
Poor visibility in snow and blowing snow is expected or occurring in some locations.
An approaching low pressure system will generate snow and strong northerly winds in the Mackenzie Delta overnight. The combination of snow and strong winds will generate reduced visibilities in blowing snow. Conditions are expected to improve late Saturday afternoon as the winds diminish.
Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
Blowing snow advisories are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours.
