Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Yarmouth County

Rain, heavy at times is expected.

A low pressure system approaching from the southwest will give significant rainfall to parts of southwestern Nova Scotia on Tuesday and Tuesday night. Precipitation will begin as freezing rain Tuesday morning, which could persist in inland areas for a time on Tuesday, but will persist or change to rain elsewhere Tuesday and Tuesday night. Total rainfall amounts of 25 to 50 millimetres are expected.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.
