  • Halifax County - east of Porters Lake

Ice build-up due to freezing rain is expected or occurring.

An area of freezing rain is forecast to develop over western Nova Scotia Tuesday morning and spread to across the remainder of the province during the day. Over northern and eastern sections freezing rain will persist into Tuesday night. Significant ice accretion is possible. Freezing rain will eventually change to rain from southwest to northeast across the province as temperatures slowly climb above the freezing mark. Strong easterly winds will develop across the province on Tuesday and persist Tuesday night.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
