Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:

  • Hants County

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing torential rain.

At 11.30 AM radar is detecting several areas of heavy rain over the regions included in this watch. High rainfall rates could lead to amounts in the 25 to 50mm range over a period of one to two hours.

Rapidly rising rivers and creeks can sweep away bridges, culverts, buildings, and people. In Canada, lightning kills up to 10 people every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors.
