Another winter storm Friday night into Saturday.
Another winter storm will impact Nova Scotia late Friday into Saturday. Snow is forecast to begin in Southwest Nova Scotia Friday evening and reach Cape Breton early Saturday morning. Strong winds with the storm will likely result in some blowing snow conditions. At this time models are indicating a changeover to ice pellets and freezing rain then to rain over much of the province by Saturday morning. Snow is expected to redevelop Saturday evening as the low tracks eastward across the province. Amounts and locations of the heaviest snow and timing of the freezing rain and rain will depend on the track of the storm. Currently indications are for amounts to possibly exceed 15 centimetres in the west while in the east amounts may not even reach 5 centimetres before the changeover to rain. Rainfall amounts along the Atlantic coast may approach 20 millimetres.
