Special weather statement in effect for:
- Halifax Metro and Halifax County West
Snowfall amounts of 10 to possibly 15 centimetres by Sunday morning.
A developing low pressure system will approach the Maritimes from the south this morning and will pass offshore tonight. Periods of snow will develop across much of Mainland Nova Scotia this morning before tapering off overnight. Over Cape Breton periods of snow will begin around noon today and will end early Sunday morning. At this time it still looks like the heaviest snow will remain offshore with most counties along the Atlantic Coast seeing total snowfall amounts of 10 to possibly 15 centimetres. Over the remainder of the province lesser amounts are expected. However it should be noted that snowfall warnings may become required if the low tracks closer to the province.
The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required.
