A winter storm will affect these regions Thursday into Friday.
A developing low pressure system south of the Great Lakes will intensify as it crosses the Maritimes Thursday morning to lie over the Gulf of St. Lawrence by Thursday evening. The system will then move into the Labrador Sea on Friday.
This system is forecast to bring near 20 centimetres of snow and ice pellets for the Norman Bay to Lodge Bay area but over an extended period of time of about 24 hours. While there will be lesser amounts further north and inland the possibility for locally higher amounts and widespread blowing snow still exists.
Environment Canada will continue to monitor the development of this system, providing updates as new information becomes available.
