Snowfall warning in effect for:
- Stanley - Doaktown - Blackville Area
A long period of snowfall, with total amounts of 20 to 30 cm is expected.
An intensifying area of low pressure near the American Seaboard will gradually approach the Maritimes tonight and Sunday. Rain developing well ahead of the low will change to snow and ice pellets this evening as colder air moves into the province. Snow and ice pellets will persist through the day Sunday with total amounts of 20 to 30 centimeters expected.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Heavy snowfall accumulation may cause tree branches to break. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
