Alerts for: Woodstock and Carleton County

3:56 PM ADT Thursday 20 October 2016
Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Woodstock and Carleton County

At the moment a heavy rainfall event is expected over parts of the Maritimes however there is still a high degree of uncertainty with respect to the location of heaviest rain. The highest rainfall rates will likely occur overnight Friday into Saturday. Current guidance is suggesting general amounts ranging from 30 to 50 mm with a possibility of higher amounts reaching or even exceeding 80 mm over northwestern parts of the province. As is the case with most heavy rainfall situations, the total amount of rain is not necessarily the problem but rather the rate at which the rain falls.

Environment Canada will continue to monitor the development of this system and recommends that anyone with weather sensitive activities or travel continue to monitor forecasts and the issuance of any future warnings.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to or tweet reports to #NBStorm.
