Winter storm watch in effect for:

  • St. Stephen and Northern Charlotte County

A winter storm will impact New Brunswick Friday night into Saturday. Flurries on Friday will change to snow at times heavy near midnight in southwestern regions of the province and will spread northward overnight and into Saturday morning. Strong winds are also expected to develop and will likely result in blowing snow causing reduced visibilities. Snowfall amounts could possibly reach 15 centimetres in the south Friday night. Further snowfall accumulation is expected across New Brunswick on Saturday.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.

Winter Storm Watches are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Stay up to date with Weatheradio or your local media. Email reports of severe weather to weatherASPC@ec.gc.ca or call 1-877-815-9900. You may tweet reports using the hashtag #NBStorm.
