Blizzard Warning in effect for:

  • York

Blizzard conditions with near zero visibility at times are expected. When: Monday night through Tuesday evening Wind: gusts of 70 to 80 km/h Total snowfall: 10 to 15 cm Remarks: A low pressure system has brought snow to Churchill and York regions which will continue to Tuesday. Strong northerly winds will develop Monday night. These winds along with the fallen snow will produce blizzard conditions in blowing snow. The snowfall warning has been upgraded to blizzard warning. Blizzard conditions should improve Tuesday evening. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Protect yourself from wind, cold and disorientation by staying sheltered, indoors or with your vehicle. For information on emergency plans and kits go to getprepared.gc.ca.
