Arctic outflow warning in effect for:
- Central Coast - inland sections
Strong outflow winds and cold wind chill values are expected or occuring.
An arctic high will continue to build over interior B.C. causing arctic outflow conditions over sections of coastal BC. Strong winds will combine with cold temperatures to give wind chill values of -20 tonight and Saturday morning.
Any outdoor activity exposes you to an increased risk of frostbite. Be prepared for unusually cold temperatures and strong winds.
Arctic Outflow Warnings are issued when bitterly cold air flows from the interior to coastal communities and the outflow winds create wind chill values of -20 or less for 6 hours or more.
Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. Email reports of severe weather to email@example.com or tweet with the hashtag #BCStorm.
