Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 3:00 AM AST 12 December 2013 Today Tonight and Friday At 3:00 a.m. AST today ridge located over the eastern United States.
By 3:00 a.m. AST today low located northeast of Labrador.
At 5:00 a.m. AST Friday low located over Lurcher.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Friday low located southeast of Laurentian Fan.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:42 AM AST 12 December 2013 An intense quasi-stationary low pressure system northeast of Labrador
and a quasi-stationary ridge of high pressure over the Eastern United
States will produce a general west to northwesterly flow over the
marine district today and Friday. Strong to gale force west to
northwesterly winds are expected throughout the forecast period.
These strong wind combined with very cold Arctic air will give
freezing spray to portions of the marine district today and Friday.
Marine interests are advised gale warnings are in effect for
Lurcher..Browns Bank..Georges Bank..Southwestern shore..LaHave Bank..
West Scotian Slope..East Scotian Slope..Banquereau..Laurentian Fan..
Cabot Strait..Gulf - Magdalen and Anticosti.
Freezing spray warnings are in effect for all waters except georges
Bank..West Scotian Slope..East Scotian Slope and Laurentian Fan.
