Marine Weather StatementIssued 9:56 AM NST 7 March 2014 A low pressure system southeast of Greenland will weaken throughout
the forecast period. Meanwhile, an area of high pressure east of Nova
Scotia will pass south of the marine district this evening. Between
these features, strong to gale force westerlies will persist across
most of the marine district today and tonight before diminishing to
generally moderate southwesterlies on Saturday.
Additionally, another low pressure system near Cape Hatteras will
approach the marine district to lie just southwest of the Grand Banks
by Saturday evening. Gale force southeasterlies will reach the
Southern Grand Banks by Saturday evening ahead of this low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and the Southern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters.
