Technical Marine Synopsis

Issued 8:00 PM NST 20 November 2014 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight departing low 974 mb located northeast
of Labrador Sea.

At 8:00 p.m. NST tonight low 1000 mb located over southern Quebec.
By 8:00 p.m. NST Friday deepening low 978 mb located over
southwestern Labrador Sea.

By 8:00 p.m. NST tonight high located southeast of the Grand Banks.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:58 PM NST 20 November 2014 An intense low pressure system northeast of the Labrador Sea will
begin to weaken overnight tonight as it continues to track northward.
Gale force westerlies over northern waters will diminish by late this
evening as the low departs.

A second low pressure system will approach the Gulf of St. Lawrence
this evening, then deepen as it tracks northeastwards to cross the
Strait of Belle Isle Friday morning. Strong to gale force southerlies
will develop over most waters ahead of this system and strong to gale
force westerlies in its wake.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for all
waters except the Strait of Belle Isle and the Northeast Gulf.

Marine interests are also advised that a freezing spray warning is in
effect for the Northeast Gulf.
