Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:53 PM NST 7 March 2014 A low pressure system southeast of Greenland will weaken throughout
the forecast period. Meanwhile, an area of high pressure south of the
Grand Banks will drift southeastward tonight and Saturday. Between
these features, strong to gale force westerlies will persist across
most of the marine district tonight before diminishing to generally
moderate southwesterlies on Saturday.
Additionally, another low pressure system off Cape Hatteras will
intensify as it tracks northeastward to lie southwest of the Grand
Banks by Saturday evening. Gale force southeasterlies will develop
over the Southern Grand Banks Saturday evening ahead of this low.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and the Southern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except Southwest Coast, South Coast, and the
Southern Grand Banks.
