At 3:30 p.m. NST today low 999 mb located near Cape Hatteras.
By 3:30 p.m. NST Saturday approaching low 986 mb located south of
Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:57 AM NST 7 March 2014 A low pressure system southeast of Greenland will weaken throughout
the forecast period. Meanwhile, a high pressure system off the New
England coast will pass south of the marine district this evening.
Strong to gale force westerlies will persist across most of the
marine district today and tonight before weakening to generally
moderate southwesterlies tomorrow.
Another low pressure system near Cape Hatteras will approach the
marine district to lie just southwest of the Grand Banks by Saturday
evening. Gale force southeasterlies will reach the Southern Grand
Banks by Saturday evening.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for the
Belle Isle Bank, Funk Island Bank, and the Southern Grand Banks.
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters.
