Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:51 AM NST 8 March 2014 A ridge of high pressure will move northeastward across the marine
district today. Strong to gale force westerlies over eastern waters
will subside this morning as the ridge approaches.
Meanwhile, a developing low pressure system northeast of Cape
Hatteras will track northeastward across the Grand Banks tonight and
early on Sunday. Gale force northeasterlies will develop northwest of
the low tonight while gale force southerlies can be expected to its
southeast. Strong to gale force northwesterlies will develop over
most waters on Sunday in the wake of this system.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south, Funk Island Bank, and the
Marine interests are also advised that freezing spray warnings are in
effect for all waters except South Coast, East Coast - Cape St.
Francis and south, and the Grand Banks.
