Issued 3:00 AM ADT 27 August 2014 Today Tonight and Thursday At 3:00 a.m. ADT today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the St. Lawrence River.
By 3:00 p.m. ADT Thursday trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over Nova Scotia.

At 3:00 a.m. ADT today Hurricane Cristobal 983 mb located at
30.4N 72.0W.
By 9:00 p.m. ADT Thursday Hurricane Cristobal 976 mb located at
39.5N 60.0W.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 2:56 AM ADT 27 August 2014 A trough of low pressure over Quebec will move over Nova Scotia on
Thursday. Behind the trough strong to gale force northeasterlies are
expected to develop later on Thursday over Chaleur-Miscou and
Anticosti as well as over the northwest half of Gulf-Magdalen.

As of 3 A.M. ADT on Wednesday hurricane Cristobal is located at
30.4N 72.0W with a central pressure of 983 MB and maximum sustained
winds of 70 knots. Cristobal is expected to move northeast today and
Thursday. By 9 P.M. ADT on Thursday evening Cristobal is expected to
lie south of the East Scotian Slope marine area near 39.5N 60.0W. It
is possible that gales in the periphery of Cristobal may affect the
southern edge of either East Scotian Slope or Laurentian Fan on
Thursday evening.

Mariners are advised to monitor updated forecasts in the event that
warnings are required.
