Issued 10:00 AM ADT 27 August 2014 Today Tonight and Thursday At 10:00 a.m. ADT today trough located on a line northeast-southwest
over the northwestern Gulf of St. Lawrence.
By 3:00 p.m. ADT Thursday trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over Nova Scotia.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT today Hurricane Cristobal 982 mb located at
31.6N 72.0W.
By 9:00 p.m. ADT Thursday Hurricane Cristobal 976 mb located at
39.7N 59.7W.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 9:32 AM ADT 27 August 2014 A trough of low pressure approaching the marine district from the
northwest will slide slowly southeastward to lie over Nova Scotia on
Thursday. Behind the trough strong to gale force northeasterlies are
expected to develop later on Thursday over Chaleur-Miscou and
Anticosti as well as over the northwest half of Gulf-Magdalen.

Tropical cyclone information: as of 10:00 AM ADT Wednesday hurricane
Cristobal was located near 31.6 north 72.0 west with maximum
sustained winds of 70 knots. Cristobal is currently moving north at
10 knots, but is expected to turn toward the northeast later today
and accelerate on Thursday. At this time Cristobal is expected
To remain well south of the Maritimes marine district, however it is
possible that gales in the periphery of Cristobal may affect the
southern edge of either East Scotian Slope or Laurentian Fan
Thursday evening.

Mariners are advised to monitor updated forecasts in the event that
warnings are required.
