Issued 3:30 PM AST 27 November 2014 Tonight and Friday At 3:30 p.m. AST today low 990 mb located over Cabot Strait.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Friday low 988 mb located east of Newfoundland.

At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 1012 mb located east of Cape Hatteras.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Friday low 994 mb located southeast of Laurentian
Fan.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:14 PM AST 27 November 2014 A low pressure system near Cape Breton Island will continue to track
eastward to lie over Newfoundland this evening. Strong to gale force
northeasterlies ahead of and north of the lows track become strong
To gale force southwesterlies to its south. Strong northerlies can
Be expected in the wake of the low. In addition freezing spray will
develop over Anticosti this evening as temperatures fall and strong
northerly winds persist.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Eastern shore...Fourchu...Sable...East Scotian
Slope...Banquereau...Laurentian Fan...Cabot Strait...Northumberland
Strait...Gulf-Magdalen...Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti. A freezing
spray warning is in effect for Anticosti.

Outlook for the start up of the Southwest Nova lobster fishery:
Today..Wind northwest 20 to 25 diminishing to north 15 this evening.
Seas 4 to 6 metres subsiding to 3 to 4 this evening.

Friday..Wind northeast 15 to 20 knots. Seas 2 to 3 metres subsiding
to 1 to 2 in the afternoon.

Saturday..Wind northwest 15 to 20 knots diminishing to light in the
afternoon. Seas 1 to 2 metres.

Higher than normal water levels can be expected until late this
afternoon along the Acadian coast south of Miramichi.
