Issued 3:00 AM ADT 18 April 2014 Today Tonight and Saturday At 3:00 a.m. ADT today high 1044 mb located over Cabot Strait.
By 9:00 p.m. ADT tonight departing high 1038 mb located east
of Newfoundland.

At 10:00 a.m. ADT today low 1025 mb located south of the Marine
District.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight low 1019 mb located over East Scotian
Slope.

At 3:00 p.m. ADT Saturday departing low located northeast of
Banquereau.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 8:00 PM ADT 17 April 2014 An area of high pressure over the Gulf of St Lawrence will drift
toward Newfoundland tonight. Meanwhile a developing low pressure
system well south of the marine district will drift slowly northward
tonight and Friday to lie over the southern edge of East Scotian
Slope by Friday evening. Strong to gale force northeasterlies over
extreme southern waters associated with this system will diminish on
Friday.

Outlook for the start-up of the eastern shore lobster fishery...
Saturday..Wind northeast 20 knots backing to northerly 15 to 20 in
The morning then to northwest 15 to 20 in the afternoon.
Sunday..Wind northwest 20 knots diminishing to variable 10 to 15 in
The afternoon.
Monday..Wind variable 10 to 15 knots increasing to southwest 15
To 20.

Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, and East Scotian Slope.
