Issued 8:00 PM ADT 28 August 2014 Tonight and Friday At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over Eastern Shore.
By 3:00 p.m. ADT Friday merging trough located on a line
northeast-southwest over the Grand Banks.

At 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight Hurricane Cristobal 973 mb located at
39.0N 60.0W.
By 9:00 a.m. ADT Friday Hurricane Cristobal 968 mb located at
43.9N 50.7W.

At 9:00 a.m. ADT Friday ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over Quebec.
By 9:00 p.m. ADT Friday ridge located on a line northeast-southwest
over New Brunswick.
 

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:59 PM ADT 28 August 2014 A trough of low pressure south of Nova Scotia at forecast time will
continue to slide slowly southeastward tonight and then merge with
hurricane Cristobal on Friday. Strong to gale force northeasterlies
can be expected behind the trough.

Tropical cyclone information: as of 8:00 PM ADT Thursday hurricane
Cristobal was located near latitude 39.0 north longitude 60.0 west.
Maximum sustained winds are estimated at 70 knots and central
pressure at 973 MB. Cristobal is moving east northeast at 30 knots.
Cristobal is expected to remain well south of the Maritimes marine
district affecting only the extreme southeastern waters. Gale to
possible storm force northeast winds associated with Cristobal will
begin over Laurentian Fan - southeastern half overnight tonight.

Mariners interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Eastern shore - eastern half...Sable - eastern half... Fourchu...
Banquereau...Laurentian Fan...Cabot Strait... Northumberland
Strait...Gulf Magdalen...Chaleur-Miscou and Anticosti - southeastern
half.
