Technical Marine SynopsisIssued 8:00 PM NDT 29 August 2014 Tonight and Saturday At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight departing Post-tropical Storm Cristobal
980 mb located over the Flemish Cap.
At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight ridge located from New Brunswick to the
Strait of Belle Isle.
By 8:00 p.m. NDT Saturday ridge located on a line
northeast-southwest over the southern Grand Banks.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 7:57 PM NDT 29 August 2014 At 8:00 PM NDT, post-tropical storm Cristobal was located over the
Flemish Cap, approximately 330 nautical miles east of st. Johns.
Maximum sustained winds are estimated at 65 knots and central
pressure at 980 MB. Cristobal will continue to track northeastward
into the North Atlantic tonight.
Gale to storm force northerlies over eastern waters will subside
throughout the night as the remnants of Cristobal tracks out to sea.
Marine interests are advised that a storm warning is in effect for
Northern Grand Banks - southeastern half. Gale warnings are in effect
for East Coast, Funk Island Bank - southeastern half, Northern Grand
Banks - northwestern half, and the Southern Grand Banks.
